The Non-Profit Enterprise “Halychyna” Centre for Comprehensive Rehabilitation is the largest rehabilitation center in Ukraine, specializing in treatment, rehabilitation, and prosthetics. The center comprises two hospitals.

In the current wartime conditions, healthcare professionals work tirelessly to provide round-the-clock medical care to war-affected patients, including those with limb amputations, spinal injuries, and complications arising from mine-explosive trauma.

Since the onset of the war, the hospital has transformed into a medical facility where injured Ukrainians from active combat zones are transported. However, due to safety concerns, the provision of complex rehabilitation services for patients with severe amputations, paralysis, and plegias in the eastern regions remains limited.

Given the current political and economic conditions and the harsh realities Ukrainians face daily due to the war, there is a critical shortage of surgical capabilities necessary to prevent the development of severe conditions and to ensure an adequate level of medical care. Under these circumstances, it is clear that establishing a surgical department is essential for patients who require repeated surgical interventions.

Together with the hospital management and key personnel, we have assessed what is needed to provide this hospital with a safe and adequate operating room complex. We have concluded that this hospital can effectively address its urgent needs with a modern modular operating complex, which will include two operating rooms equipped with ultra-clean air, a recovery area, sterile storage, changing rooms, and a sterilization department for cleaning and sterilizing reusable items. This complex can be installed adjacent to the hospital.

In The Netherlands, we develop and construct a modular operating room complex under controlled conditions. This complex is built in several smaller modules that are then transported by road to Velykyi Lyubin, where our Ukrainian consortium of builders and engineers will assemble them into a fully operational and state-of-the-art operating room complex. We deliver the modules ready-to-use, complete with technical and medical systems such as surgical lights, operating tables, and pendants, along with specific medical equipment, ensuring that the complex becomes operational as quickly as possible.

At this moment, final touches are being put on the designs and organization to make the project available to the hospital as quickly as possible.
